Shame from Brene Brown’s perspective

In this TedTalk Brene Brown distinguishes the difference between guilt and shame. She argues that shame is at the root of many of our emotional problems and it focuses on our lack of worth. Shame is when we believe that we are bad, or not enough, or that something is wrong with us. She contrasts this with the healthier emotion of guilt. She says that guilt focuses on the behavior and that when we feel guilt we are able to take responsibility for what we have done and hopefully identify a way to make reparation.
